# Kurtempo

> Tap your horse's tempo on your own ride video, fit your music to each gait without changing its pitch, check the time and print the floor plan.

Kurtempo is a browser only builder for a dressage musical freestyle. A rider loads a video of their own ride (MP4, MOV or WebM up to 2 GB, played from the file, never decoded or uploaded) and music they own (MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC as the browser decodes them). They tap each gait's footfalls while the video plays (walk and trot: each front foot; canter: the leading leg once a stride); the tempo is 60,000 over the median gap between taps, with at least 8 taps, outliers more than 25 percent from the median named and left out, and stability graded from the spread. They mark segments on the video timeline (snapped to shown frame times, never overlapping), give each a track and an in-point, and each section is time stretched to its gait's tempo without changing pitch (Signalsmith Stretch, MIT, in a Web Worker): 8 percent or less is fine, over 8 warns, 15 percent or more is refused unless the rider overrides with a reason printed on the cue sheet. Touching sections crossfade over 1 to 4 seconds with equal power curves; each has a gain; the mix is normalised to minus 1 dBFS peak and rendered at 48 kHz with an OfflineAudioContext. The ridden time is checked against the level (13 USDF, FEI and British Dressage freestyle levels with sources and dates, reference only). Exports: one WAV (48 kHz, 16 bit), a cue sheet PDF and a floor plan PDF of a 20 by 60 or 20 by 40 arena; each PDF carries the line "Made with Kurtempo, kurtempo.com" in its footer, the WAV carries nothing. A freestyle can be shared as a link that holds its segments, gait tempos, settings and the names and sizes of the files it expects, never the video or the music. Free printables: blank arena diagrams, a blank cue sheet and a gait tempo log. No MP3: no MP3 encoder with a licence the site can ship was found. Some shows and streamed events require licensed music. Check your show's rules.

## What it is not

- Not affiliated: Kurtempo is not affiliated with the FEI, USDF, USEF, British Dressage or any federation, and does not supply music.
- Not a music service: it supplies no music.
- Not a federation or judge: the levels reference is for planning; the current rulebook decides.
- Not a beat detector: tempos come from the rider's own taps.
- Not an uploader: the video and music never leave the device; there is no server.
